Overview
Elastic Mint led the technical delivery of an integration platform for one of Europe’s largest holiday rental providers. The platform acts as a modern middleware layer, connecting the group’s internal booking systems directly to third-party property inventory partners.
The Challenge
Bringing third-party property inventory onto the platform could not come at the expense of the core booking service. The existing approach meant translating disparate XML formats from each partner, keeping availability and pricing accurate in real time, and guarding against double bookings whenever a partner’s API retried a failed request.
Our Approach
We designed and delivered an event-driven serverless architecture on AWS, covering availability sync, pricing updates and the booking flow itself.
The platform was built in C# and .NET, running on AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, S3 and DynamoDB, with infrastructure managed through Terraform, deployed via GitHub Actions, and OpenTelemetry providing visibility across the event-driven flow.
Outcome
We verified availability, pricing and booking flows end-to-end across multiple partner scenarios ahead of go-live, and the platform passed two full OWASP Top 10 security audits with zero critical findings. High-velocity delivery, underpinned by disciplined test-driven development, automated pull request review and a smooth developer onboarding process, meant new partner integrations could be added with confidence rather than risk.
Where we go next
Elastic Mint remains well placed to extend the platform to further partners and integration scenarios as the group’s partnership network grows, building on the event-driven foundations and delivery practices already in place.
