You’ve got engineers who are competent but stretched, or a project that needs a senior developer alongside them for six months. We embed alongside your people rather than working in isolation, so your team learns what we know as we go. When we leave, the software is yours to maintain – not a black box that needs us to keep running.
C#, .NET, and Azure. We work primarily in the Microsoft stack and have done since .NET arrived. Azure lets us build, test, and deploy modular applications quickly – releasing features as soon as they’re ready, rather than waiting for a big-bang launch. Early feedback usually changes the shape of what comes next, and our pipeline is set up for that.
Data and storage. The right database depends on what you’re storing and how you’ll query it. We’ve used SQL Server for relational systems, MongoDB for document-heavy applications where read performance matters, and Elasticsearch for search and analytics over large datasets. The right answer is often a combination – SQL as the source of truth, with copies into MongoDB or Elasticsearch optimised for the queries the front end actually makes.
API design. APIs sit at the heart of most modern systems. A well-designed API is stable, well-documented, and easy to use. A poorly-designed one becomes the bottleneck nobody wants to touch. We’ve built APIs that serve web applications, integrate partner systems, and underpin microservice architectures – and we’ll tell you straight if microservices aren’t actually the right answer for what you’re trying to do.
Web UI. For browser-based applications we use Next.js (React) when SEO or a rich front-end ecosystem matters, and Blazor when keeping the whole stack in C# is the right call – often the better fit for internal tools where the team already lives in .NET.
Mobile. When a project needs an app on both iOS and Android, we build with React Native (via Expo) so a single codebase ships to both stores without compromising on the native feel. We did exactly this for HWWA Consulting’s Benefits Buddy – a mobile-first employee benefits platform delivered alongside a .NET back office and Azure infrastructure.
AI in the build. We use AI tools every day, and they’ve made a material difference to how quickly we ship. Jobs like boilerplate, drafting tests, migration scripts, and exploring an unfamiliar library used to fill an afternoon and now take an hour. That speed becomes your speed, with shorter timelines for the same outcome. What hasn’t changed is the need for judgement and experience.
