In December 2023, Elastic Mint celebrated five years of partnership with Preqin, a leading financial services company providing data and insights in the global alternatives community. During this period, we were involved in a number of projects related to Preqin Pro, their alternative assets data platform.
Technology never stays still, and before you know it, that shiny new application you were so proud of developing has become legacy software holding you back from achieving an important business goal. Moving technology forward is a challenge for many businesses, and the same is true for Preqin.
When Elastic Mint first got involved with Preqin, they were in the process of developing Preqin Pro, a replacement for their previous offering. More recently, they have been working on updating one of their main back-office applications.
Throughout this time, Elastic Mint worked closely with Preqin engineers. We helped to design the processes by which older applications would first run alongside and then be replaced by newer ones. We were involved in developing ETL processes to transform and copy data to new data stores. These ETLs led to a significant improvement in data quality. Plus we were able to replace a very manual process which often took much of the weekend.
All the while, we took care to ensure that the transition for users was seamless and any downtime was minimal.
